Neighbor to Neighbor-a round-up program through AEP Electric, administered by CCH, has paid $550,902 since 2009, helping 2,419 families avoid disconnection of AEP services.
Project Happy Feet– a program that provides Hancock County children with shoes (through a voucher program) at the start of the school year. This program was initially funded through a $25,000 grant from Marathon Petroleum (LPGA). Ongoing funding is needed to sustain this program. Through 2023, over 5,500 children have received shoes at the beginning of the school year. In 2016, Project Happy Feet was a finalist for Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO) program of the year. This program is in addition to CCH’s annual operating budget.
Stuff the Bus– a community collaborative with WFIN/WKXA that distributes school supplies to area children at the start of the school year. All supplies are donated by businesses and individuals in the community. Christian Clearing House became the hosting agency in 2014 for the annual event. In 2023, more than 1,300 backpacks were distributed to local children.
Embrace Your Glam- prom dress giveaway kicked off in 2024. This program was designed to assists Hanock County girls with prom dresses. Donated dresses are distributed in annually in the spring.
Food Security Coalition – a program through the United Way of Hancock County designed to mobilize the community to research, identify, implement, and promote long-term sustainable solutions to the problem of hunger in Hancock County. Christian Clearing House received a $75,000 grant in 2022 to provide food vouchers to families that are food insecure in the county.
The Caring Cupboard- a supply of taxable items (which have been donated by the community) are distributed to clients who have a need. Items include but are not limited to: toilet paper, diapers & wipes, hygiene items, dish detergent, laundry soap, travel size items, crock pots, etc. These supplies are in constant demand.
Referral Program – if another program can better assist a client, they are referred. CCH works closely with private agencies, governmental agencies, area schools and churches to meet the needs of the Hancock County community.
