What our volunteers say about HCCH:
“Volunteering at HCCH is a concrete way to serve, to put my Christian values into action. It allows me to give back.”
“My heart goes out to them (the clients) because some of them don’t have a clue as to where they are going or how to get there. We are reaching a lot of people with different circumstances. Their needs are great.”
“I feel so rewarded! I enjoy and look forward to the days I am scheduled to work. I feel we are making a huge impact in our county on those in need around us.”
HCCH has three basic types of volunteers: support/security, intake/interview, and intake assistants. Volunteers are trained on HCCH procedures and policies and sign a confidentiality agreement.
HCCH also trains interested volunteers in other programs such as Ohio Benefit Bank and Neighbor to Neighbor.
Volunteers are offered opportunities to assist the organization in many other ways such as serving on committees to help lead the organization.
Volunteers also help with many of the fund raising activities for HCCH.
